34 weeks tomorrow!

Just 6 more weeks left! Cant wait for the d-day!

Yesterday I had some slight fever and cold and so had to goto the hospital. They did the test for swine flu and gave me some tylenol. Today the test result came back negative!!
Also had the appointment with my OBGYN today. Baby is looking fine and the ultrasound tech showed some hair on the baby's head :-D Dont know how much hair though! My mom told me that I had so much hair when I was born, that it covered my eyes! Lemme see what the kiddo has!

I had increased 1.25kg in the last 2 weeks and out of that, baby's share is 1 kg!!! She weighs 2.6kg now! As per Indian standards, she may be a heavy baby(Avg. Indian newborn weight is 2.8kg). I donot know about Korean standards, but my doc said that the baby is slightly large. As long as the baby is healthy, I am okay with it.

Baby's position is also good.

Hopefully I should have a natural delivery even if the baby weighs more. Will have to wait and see...

Egg gravy

I love egg gravy so much that I can have them everyday! This can be eaten with rice or chappati.

You will need:

1. Oil - 1 Tbspn
2. Cardamom- 1, Cloves- 2, Cinnamom - 2cm piece
3. dried red chilli - 1, Cumin seeds-1/4 tspn
4. 1/2 Onion - finely chopped
5. 1 tomato - finely diced
6. Garlic - 1 pod finely chopped
7. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn
8. Sambar powder - 1-2 spn
9. Dry mango powder - 1-2 pinches
10. Thin Coconut milk - 1 cup ( I prepare it using Maggi Coconut powder)
11. Salt- to taste
12. Eggs - 3
13. chopped Corriander - to garnish

Method:

1. Take oil in pan and when hot add Cardamom, Cloves, Cinnamom, dried red chilli and cumin seeds.

2. When they splutter, add onion,garlic, turmeric powder and saute till the onion becomes brown.

3. Add tomatoes and saute till they become soft and mushy. Gently mash them so that they wil get cooked.

4. Add sambar powder, dry mango powder, salt and mix well.

5. Add the coconut milk and mix.

6. Cover with a lid and let it come to a boil on a low flame.

7. Now open the lid and boil till it becomes a thick liquid.

8. Keep on low flame again and break an egg into the gravy and stir so that it gets dispersed in the liquid.

9. From now on stop stirring and break the remaining eggs one by one into the gravy at different spots so that they form small omlettes.

10. Now cover with a lid and cook on low flame till the egg gets cooked.

11. Switch off and garnish with chopped corriander.

Before & After!

I think I am going to burst by the time I reach my due date. I was already worried about being overweight. Now my body seems to happily add on the pounds everyday!

I reduced around 8 kg by doing aerobics for 8 months before my marriage which placed me at 61Kg. After marriage I successfully spoiled my past effort by putting on 5Kg after coming to Seoul. As on date, I am 80 Kg. Yup! 14 Kg increase after becoming pregnant!!

I am really worried how much I am going to increase in the 2 months left. I am wondering if the doctors will say that there may be some risk if I exceed 90 kg or whatever. Me and my husband are very much looking forward to having a normal delivery. I hope my weight doesn't stand in the way!

Today's Lunch!

Today's lunch is "Paruppu Keerai".
That's in Tamil.
Its a simple curry made with Green Leaf, Amaranthus Tritis (Arai Keerai in Tamil) and Toor dal (Split Pigeon Peas) but full of protein and all else in the greens!

Personally I hate eating green leafy stuff. But now I have to eat them atleast for the sake of the baby!

Here's how to make it:

Ingredients:

Onion - 1 or 2 Big as per choice ( Chopped )

Garlic - 2 pods ( 1 for dal, and 1 chopped)

Toor Dal - 1/2 cup
Amaranthus Tritis ( or any spinach) - 1 bundle

Powder of cumin seeds and pepper - 1 spoon

To temper:
Oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves ( split black gram ) - lil of each
Dried Red Chillies - 2 or 3

Method:

1. Boil toor dal along with 1 garlic , 2 -3 pinches or turmeric powder, 1 pinch of Asafoetida in a pressure cooker. Mash into a paste. Then add some water to get a batter like consistency and set aside.

2. Chop them small and wash them to remove sand and set aside.

3. Take a pan, pour 2 small spoons of oil, and when it gets hot, add the mustard seed.

4. When the mustard seeds crackle, put the dried red chillies, urad dal and curry leaves, and wait til tey turn slightly brown.

5. Now put the chopped garlic and saute til it gets cooked ( less than a minute.

6. Put the chopped onions and saute till it becomes translucent and startes turning brown.

7. Put the chopped green leaves, and keep sauteing till they get cooked. Some greens make give out water while cooking. So keep sauteing til the water evaporates ( by choice). Do not cover so that some toxins can escape.

8. Now throw in some cumin-pepper powder, and saute for a min.

9. Pour the batter like dal mixture prepared earlier into the pan, mix well. Add salt to taste and bring to boil.

10. Serve with hot rice!!!

Completed One Year!!!!!!

Yes!!!Its our first Marriage Anniversary today!
Time has been flying by so fast! Lots of things hav happened! Have enjoyed being married!

No big plans today! We just thought we will head outside and grab a pizza. I think as usual he will go to play cricket in the evening.

Another good thing is I hav stepped into my 5th month today! Cant wait for the lil one!

Just cant believe how quickly it all happened!



It all happened too fast i feel :-( Now I miss my wedding day a lot!
It was so much fun! Just 2 days before me, one of my Infy friends' got married! In our place, family will not allow us to go out for atleast some number of days when we are going to get married. I had to ask so much in my home in order to go for her wedding! And finally they gave the permission! Dont have her pics now...

Sweet times..

Today, I had a chat with my college friend/hostel roomy. Its been a very long time since I saw her! Really long..should say years!
Now that I am mostly free, I just keep thinking of how busy I had been when I was working! When I was working, I used to think about how good it was spending time with friends in college while studying!
I have had a good gang of friends in my college hostel. Another gang of friends in the first company that I joined soon after college. Again another group in which am currently working for now.
There had been so many good times with all of them!
I am just thinking of all that now as I have loadsa free time, and its good to have those memories...
I will have to soon digitize them I guess..
